Sister-Squire Blessing is a warrior raised in the service of the Convent of the Blade — a branch of the church dedicated to felling monsters. But when a hydra kills her mentor along with the love of her life, Blessing violates the principles of her convent and makes a deal with a powerful fay, changing herself evermore in her quest for revenge . . .

. . . And bringing a litany of unwanted eyes upon what she becomes. The higher clergy consider it a miracle. The other sister-dames consider it an annoyance. And the fay, of course, know that there are debts to be settled and gambits to be made.

Torn between three warring desires, Blessing will have to ask themselves what they want the most; vindication, oblivion, or liberation?
